Mr. Samir Bhatia is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has worked with several reputed Global Banks like Citibank, Barclays and HDFC Bank Ltd. Together, Samir has over 27 years of experience in the Wholesale and Retail banking system.Samir has a vast list of achievements under his belt and has excelled in all the companies he has been associated with.

Samir started off with working in Citibank; here he spent several years working in areas like Financial Control Unit, Credit Administration, Risk Management and Corporate Banking.  Samir was also involved in building a Financial Analysis system that was implemented across all Citibank entities in the Europe, Africa and Asia.

Thereafter, Samir joined HDFC Bank as one of its founding members and help establish the bank in India.  He took on the responsibility as the Country Head – Corporate Banking for the bank, where he built a very large and successful business.  Samir was one of the key executives of HDFC Bank and was part of the Senior Management team.

Post HDFC, Samir worked at  Barclays Bank plc as Managing Director – India and Indian Ocean.  Here he was responsible for the Retail and Commercial banking businesses in India, Mauritius and Seychelles.

Equifax Inc, a Consumer credit reporting agency appointed Samir as the Managing Director and Chief Executing Officer of its Indian affiliate known as Equifax Credit Information Services Private Limited. Here, Samir was involved with the finalizing and negotiations with the shareholders and also achieving financial closure and capitalization. In addition, Samir set up new infrastructure, people and processes for the new venture and, by doing so, was successful in acquiring over 250 customers and a building a sizeable 140mn of data in a very short span of time. This helped Equifax’s Indian affiliate grow tremendously.
